Amateur Radio & Velveeta Cheese make television debut

My guess? There must be a ham in the marketing department at Velveeta:

  1. Yeah, Mike, no kidding! At least this is one video that doesn’t overtly make fun of hams.

Wait, did I just post two food related videos in a row? I must be hungry.

    Cheers & 73,
    Thomas

  2. Some amateur radio equipment – especially the top dollar stuff works in both the amateur radio relm and also the GMRS / FRS / LMRS.
Vertex – is one name that comes to mind – where you can choose between the frequency displayed or a channel number.

  3. NOPE GUYS!!! The producer was NOT HONEST!

Look @ the gear in the background! It’s ALL “CB Garbage”!!!

Though I might add that MANY HAMS will eat “Velvetta” BUT it’s seems as if maybe they (the producers) think that all “communicators” are “HAMS” and slovenly (FAT)!!!
To compare we who are “LEGALLY LICENSED” (with them-unlicensed rascals-CBers) is a unwarranted “SLAM”!!!

SHAME ON KRAFT FOODS AND I HOPE THEIR PROFITS DISSOLVE :-)))”

  4. Little Bevis’ comment containing “Some amateur radio equipment – especially the top dollar stuff works in both the amateur radio relm and also the GMRS / FRS / LMRS.”
Depends on how you define “works.” A lot of the gear will receive GMRS and such. NONE of it will transmit on those frequencies without modification. NONE of it is legal for use on those frequencies. And yes, that is a CB radio in the video, not a ham (amateur) rig.
